Just before logging off and going to bed on Saturday, it suddenly struck me that I lacked 2 Elders for my To Honor One's Elders Achievement; namely the Elders in Gundrak and Azjol-Nerub. Ouch. I knew that I couldn't solo the bosses needed to get to them, I had tried and failed before. It's times like these I wish I was a Protection Paladin. And the Random Dungeon system has a tendency to only send me to the Nexus, Violet Hold, and the Halls of Reflection these days. So I decided to go for it and queue up for a the 2 specific Dungeons I needed.
First off, the queues were slightly longer than when using the random system, which is to be expected since a lot less sign for Gundrak than for any random instance there is. Second, what hit me was how highly skilled the individuals I ended up with were! My GOD what a difference! No, we didn't have tanks with 45k+ unbuffed health, and no, there was no superduper GearScore on anybody. But still the threat management, speed of the kills and general execution of tactics were all way above the average. I might have been just lucky, seeing how specific Dungeons use the same random system as the ... uh... random system. But still, the difference was so large that I am tempted to do more of it. Screw the last 2x Emblem of Triumph, peace of mind is far more important to me!
