So you're not in a Guild pro enough to kill Ragnaros? Well, fret not! There's more of him you know...
Today I ventured back into the first raid instance in the game, the good old Molten Core. My goal was to work on my Hydraxian Waterlords reputation, as well as maybe get some of the remaining pieces of my Cenarion Raiment. With patch 4.3 and transmogrification coming ever closer, I feel it's only fitting to have a good set of proper garments to choose from!
I went for a simple boss run, where the goal was to kill only the bosses, and the few trash mobs it was simpler to go through than around. I started at 12:35 CEST, and even though I managed to nerf my DPS by obtaining the 15 minute Ancient Dread debuff I still managed to finish the run at 13:15 CEST, roughly 40 minutes after I started.
Even if you got all the loot and reputation you could ever want from Molten Core, this is not a bad way to spend 40 minutes a week. It's fast and easy gold, and can be easily soloed by pretty much every level 85 character in any gear of rare quality or higher.
There is some RNG involved when it comes to the drops, but I get rare recipies more often than not. I don't think I've ever walked away with less than a 1000g in my pockets. And you could always farm the trash mobs for tons of greenies to disenchant, and chances of BoE epics. I, however, chose to do a (close to) pure boss run.
What I got:
Sulfuron Ingot 500g
Recipe: Major Rejuvenation Potion 300g

Fiery Core (x2) 7g

Vendored epics: 104g
Time spend: 40 minutes

And 1050 rep with the Hydraxian Waterlords, which actually brought me to Exalted, after only 6 years!
And behold, some nice new leggins too!
